tkit.ai vs Chatwoot

PreviousNext

Chatwoot's published per-agent cloud prices and Captain credits, set next to tkit.ai's indicative plans. No self-host claim, and no Enterprise dollar figure.

By Sourabh SoniPublished

Chatwoot's cloud pricing is per agent, with a free Hacker tier and paid plans that add Captain AI credits. tkit.ai's published prices are per plan, with unlimited teammates, and they are indicative. This page uses Chatwoot's pricing page and tkit.ai pricing. It does not state an Enterprise dollar price, because that figure was not clearly listed in the public section used here. It also does not claim that Chatwoot is or is not open source. Their page mentions discounts for open source projects. A license should be read from their repository, not guessed.

What Chatwoot lists

Hacker is $0 per agent per month, up to 2 agents, 500 conversations per month, and the live chat channel, with 30-day data retention. The detailed card does not include Captain AI, a help center, teams, automation, SSO, or audit logs.

Startups is $19 per agent per month, with Captain AI at 300 credits. The help center is included. Voice, teams, automation, SSO, and audit logs are not included on that detailed card.

Business is $39 per agent per month and marked most popular. Voice is included, Captain AI is 500 credits, automation is included, and SSO is not.

Enterprise lists Captain AI at 800 credits, SSO/SAML, audit logs, and 3-year retention. This page stops there on Enterprise. No monthly dollar amount is stated here.

Paid plans describe unlimited conversations, subject to their fair use policy. Extra Captain credits are $20 per 1,000. The hero mentions a 15-day free trial. Their FAQ places the cloud on AWS in the United States.

They also say the Startups plan is free for open source projects if you email them. That is a discount they offer, not a description of tkit.ai.

What tkit.ai publishes

A hosted script, https://cdn.tkit.ai/widget.js, plus data-widget-id, documented in the install guide. Workspaces separate products. Each workspace can run multiple widgets. Allowed domains, including wildcards, control where a snippet loads. The shared inbox holds the conversations, and a thread can become a ticket.

Indicative prices:

  • Starter: $12 per month, or $9 when billed annually. 3 workspaces, unlimited teammates, 1,000 tickets per month.
  • Growth: $19 or $15. 5 workspaces, unlimited teammates, 10,000 tickets.
  • Scale: $39 or $31. Unlimited workspaces, unlimited teammates, 50,000 tickets, priority support.

No online checkout and no card required to create an account. There is no published credit pack for Tee. Tee answers from the notes and FAQs on one widget, can say it does not know, and can be paused, disabled, or renamed. That is a different mechanism from Captain credits at 300, 500, or 800, with extras at $20 per 1,000. Do not convert one into the other.

Per agent versus per plan

Chatwoot Hacker is $0 for up to two agents and 500 conversations, with 30-day retention. tkit.ai does not publish a free tier or a 30-day retention promise on the pricing page. If two people and a conversation cap are enough, Hacker is the offer to read first.

Startups at $19 per agent is the same headline number as tkit.ai's Growth card at $19 per month, and they are not the same unit. Three agents on that Chatwoot plan list at $57 before extra Captain credits. Three teammates do not multiply tkit.ai's published Growth price. Five agents on Business at $39 list at $195. tkit.ai's Scale card lists $39 for the plan. The products behind those numbers differ: Chatwoot's Business card includes voice and automation, which tkit.ai does not list.

Retention is another published difference. Hacker says 30 days. Enterprise says 3 years. tkit.ai's pricing page does not publish a retention period. Do not assume one.

Their cloud region is stated as AWS in the United States. This page does not add a region claim for tkit.ai, because the pricing and product pages used here do not state one.

Help center, voice, SSO

Startups includes a help center. tkit.ai's widget can show the FAQs you write on that widget. That is not a public help center product. Business includes voice. tkit.ai has no voice channel in the product described here. Enterprise includes SSO/SAML and audit logs. tkit.ai's marketing pages do not list SSO or audit logs. If those are requirements, Chatwoot's grid is the one that mentions them, and you should confirm the tier on their page.

Teams and automation are absent on Hacker and Startups in the detailed cards, and automation is included on Business. tkit.ai does not publish an automation-rules product. The inbox workflow is: message arrives, unread, a person or Tee replies, optional ticket. The shared inbox page is that description at full length.

How to read the trial

Chatwoot's hero mentions 15 days. tkit.ai says you can create an account without a credit card and that billing is a conversation, not a checkout. Neither sentence is a feature checklist. Use the trial they offer if you want their cloud. Use the install path here if you want to see the widget on your own domain. The widget install check only inspects the snippet text.

Draft replies you will still write by hand are in the support templates.
